Painting is my second career. Previously I worked as a costume and set designer for the theater. My BFA degree is from the University of Texas and my MA degree is from Purdue University.

After many years of making art as a member of a production team I longed for a more personal expression.  This led me to study drawing and painting with many of the fine artists at the Arts Students League of Denver and to pursue a second career as a painter.

My medium of choice is pastel and my style is informed by my years as a theater artist and the chiaroscuro tradition of the Dutch Masters.  My work has been featured in art publications and I exhibit paintings in galleries nationwide.  I have been awarded Master Pastelist status by the Pastel Society of America.  It is with great pleasure that I have returned to the Art Students League of Denver to teach classical drawing and painting.
